Friends of Barron thanks Keith Prosser and Bob & Julie Wallace for their recent contributions to the Barron Preparatory School Scholarship Program. This annual program to send 15 of Barron’s best students to high school in Mazatlan has raised $87,000 pesos against its $150,000 peso goal so far. The first increment of $30,000 pesos will be paid out on August 15, 2010 to the 15 winning students in time for their parents to meet expenses associated with the beginning of the school year at the end of August.

Thanks Again to Dave & Elaine Greiner
Yesterday, Dave and Elaine Greiner from Estrella del Mar Phase Two toured the Barron Schools. They had a very large bag of school supplies to deliver to the elementary school and the kindergarten. They brought crayons, paper pads, scissors and lots of other stuff that will surely stimulate the budding artists of Barron. At the end of the day, Dave and Elaine also donated $2000 pesos to the ongoing school projects. Dave and Elaine have been Friends of Barrons’ biggest supporters and we really appreciate their continued support.
School Supplies for Barron Arrive
Friends of Barron has received a generous amount of school supplies from Linda and Joe Day. Joe hauled two filing cabinets and two large boxes of pencils, paper, folders, crayons and rulers down from his home in Orange County, CA. The goods were delivered to the Barron secondary, primary and kindergarten schools last Tuesday. The teachers were very pleased. Thank you Joe and Linda Day!

Just recently, Friends of Barron has received significant donations from Rita Pacheco, a homeowner, Cliff and Barbie duFresne in Las Lagunitas. John Watson has begun to donate his time by teaching English at the secondary school. Thank you! Thank You! Thank you for your support.
…… Thank You!!! Thank You!!! Thank You!!!
Big Winners!!! Dave and Elaine Greinier in Phase II have very generously donated 40,000 pesos – their winnings from the Estrella del Mar Golf Tournament! The two golfers, along with their six friends – Kelly Dunn, Bob Blanscett, John and Katerine Portz, Aaron Bunker and Tom Newton agreed before the tournament that whatever winnings the group had at the tournament would be combined and given to the Friends of Barron Library Project. Their total winnings equaled 40,000 pesos (Dave won closest to the hole). This fabulous gift will help us purchase windows, a door and the electrical wiring for the elementary/community library.
Thank you to Tim, Nancy, Brent and William Muzyka from Phase III for their donation of 12,000 pesos which allowed us to fix the roof and walls in the library.
Thank you to Christina, daughter of Jim and Frances Barnes, Phase I) for her donation of school supplies to the Kindergarten.
